Treatments and Services
Treatment programmes, specifically tailored to individual needs, are available and can be started at any time of the year. They normally consist of approximately 4 treatments and, depending on need and customer preference, a scarify. A full lawn assessment would take place initially to diagnose the most appropriate action.
Below are examples of the range of treatments and services on offer.
Traditional Lawn Treatments
Treatment 1 (Spring) | The first visit of the new year will include a moss treatment (to help control the spread of moss), low nitrogen feed (with a slow release to keep your lawn healthy) and a weed killer (to stop early weed development of weeds). Luxury Lawns will also check your lawn for disease and pest infestation and, where necessary, apply the pesticide required. |
Treatment 2 (Summer) | During Summer a second application of fertiliser will be applied, this time with a higher amount of nitrogen. Depending on the condition of your lawn Luxury lawns would also apply a wetting agent to help restore moisture in the root system. A secondary application of weed killer will be applied. Again, luxury lawns will check your lawn for any sign of disease or lawn pests. |
Treatment 3 (Late Summer) | Again we will apply a controlled release fertiliser, which will keep your lawn looking that beautiful dark green colour you have always wanted. Checks will again be made for weeds, disease and pests which may be attacking your lawn - any necessary treatments will be applied. |
Treatment 4 (Autumn) | Lawn winter fertiliser will be applied. This will be rich in iron and seaweed. This feed will help in the control of moss. |
Treatment 5 (Late Autumn/Winter) | Luxury Lawns we will come back following treatment 4 to give your lawn a scarification which will help to eliminate any dead moss from your lawn. We will look for any sign of disease on your lawn and apply the product required. |
Organic Lawn Treatments
As the environment is extremely important to Luxury Lawns, and many of our customers, we can now offer a full organic lawn treatment programme or one off treatments. Our fully organic range of fertilisers do not have the longevity of our traditional feeds, which would mean a visit every 4-5 weeks throughout the growing season. This would allow Luxury Lawns to see your lawn more often, which will help ensure your lawn is as healthy as it can be - with very little impact on the environment.
Moss Control
Moss can often be a real problem in lawns and it can be a time consuming exercise to get rid of it. Luxury Lawns would apply a product to firstly kill off the moss and harden the grass - this will also help stop the spread of moss. Once the moss has died we will then scarify your lawn to remove as much of the dead moss as possible.
Growth Regulation (Less Cutting)
If you are an extremely busy individual or would rather not have the task of mowing your lawn as often, Luxury Lawns are here to help. We can apply a product that will reduce the amount of mowing you have to do; by applying a growth regulator we can slow down the vertical growth of your grass and encourage your grass to form a thick dense sward. Ideally, this programme would start in Spring however it can be introduced at any time in the growing season. Applications are made every five weeks throughout the growing season. Just one application will cut down mowing frequency and reduce clippings by up to 50%.
Weed Killing
Luxury Lawns can offer a range of services from applying selective weed killers to your lawn to eradicate those unsightly weeds, Total weed killer can be applied to any area you like whether it be pathways or areas of your garden that you want to be killed of for regeneration - no job is to small.
Scarification
The removal of thatch build up and dead moss. This can be a labour intensive job depending on your lawns condition - it may take more than one visit to eradicate it. It is recommended that when you have the moss under control you should scarify your lawn at least once a year.
Aeration
For lawns that are badly compacted we would recommend either solid or hollow tine aeration. By doing this we will remove some of the thatch as well as helping to ease the compaction that leads to poor drainage. Most lawns will benefit from an application of topdressing (mixture of sand & soil) to help the existing soil profile. The majority of garden lawns will not need this level of work but Luxury Lawns would be happy to discuss this option with you.
Artificial Lawns
As the current climate is changing to that of mild damp one, artificial lawns are becoming more and more popular. Whether it be a full artificial lawn or just a part artificial lawn to cover the heavily worn areas Luxury Lawns will be happy to discuss this with you. Perhaps you would like an artificial lawn in an area designated for childrens play or in a beer garden?
Re-Turfing
Luxury Lawns can offer a full or part re-turfing service. If Areas of your garden are completely worn away Donny will decide which turf will be the best for your situation. Whether you are looking to re-turf an area which has been well walked or simply a heavily shaded area we can supply and lay the best turf for your garden.
